8u Coach pitch softball

8u softball is a coach pitch program designed for girls ages 6-8 . This is an introduction into fastpitch and our traveling FLAFA program that begins at the 10u level.

FLAFA partners with Centennial Lakes Little League and surrounding communities to play in this all girls coach pitch league in both the summer and then fall seasons.

Summer season begins in late April or early May. The girls will play approximately 15 games throughout the season. Games are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. This is a mini travel program, therefore games will be held in the surrounding communities. The summer season ends with an end of the year tournament.

Registration for 8u summer ball will typically open in late September and remain open until about 3 weeks prior to the seasons start date in the spring.

Fall season typically runs late august through late September. The girls will play approximately 5 games in this short season. Games in the fall are held at Lexington Memorial Park in the Lexington/Circle Pines area on Sunday afternoons and evenings.

8u Teams are selected by the school your child attends and nearby schools (depending on the number of players that register)

Each 8u player will be provided with a Jersey for the fall season. Pants, Belts and Socks are available for purchase, If you would like to purchase these additional uniform items please reach out to the board (board@flafa.org)

Equipment needed for 8u includes:

• Softball mask (fielding mask) Rip-it is a popular brand
• a softball glove
• softball shoes

Additional equipment would include:

• a batting helmet (inclusive of a face cage and chin strap, this will be required at the 10u level and above)
• a softball bat
• batting gloves
• softball bag
